BlackBerry Curve 8520

The Blackberry Curve 8520 is an entry-level smartphone from Blackberry with full QWERTY form factor. The phone has a plastic build quality which has a soft rubbery feel to it. It has an optical touchpad on the front of the device which helps in navigating around the user interface. It has a 2.46 inch display with TFT LCD panel and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The phone runs on Blackberry 5.0 operating system which is supported by a 512 MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM.

The phone has a 2 MP fixed focus camera with neither flash nor a front facing camera. The Blackberry Curve 8520 can record QVGA videos which is quite low for a phone of that standard. The phone has a dedicated set of multimedia keys on the top of the phone which lets users control and listen to music instantly without even having to take a look at the display.

The Blackberry Curve 8520 has a normal SIM card slot along with Class 10 GPRS, Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth v2.0 A2DP. Wired connectivity includes Micro USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack for transferring the data and listening to audio from the phone respectively. Other features include Blackberry World, which is used to browse and download needed apps for your device. There is the world renowned BBM and BIS service which encrypts all the personal data as a security measure.

The phone has a 1150 mAh battery that is decently large for a phone with such specifications. The battery provides talk-time of up to 4 hours and 30 minutes while the stand-by time is rated at 408 hours. The phone has 256 MB of internal storage and a MicroSD card slot is present, which can be used to further expand the storage by up to 32 GB.
