The Coolpad Mega 3 succeeds the Mega 2.5D smartphone and has a price tag of less than Rs. 10,000. The Mega 3 features a bump in processing power and battery over the 2.5D. The phone measures 8.35 mm thick and weighs 170.5 grams.

The Mega 3 sports a 5.50-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution that promises to show HQ media. The phone sports 2.5D curved glass on top. The phone is relatively slim at 8mm thickness and comes in a metal unibody, currently available in moondust grey.

The Mega 3 features CoolUI 8.0 on top of Marshmallow 6.0 on a 1.25 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset with 2GB of RAM that ensures smooth performance. The phone s predecessor featured a 1.0 GHz quad-core processor. Extensive multitasking might slow the Mega 3 down. Internal storage on the Mega 3 is 16GB that can be increased to 32GB via SD cards.

The Mega 3 features an 8-megapixel primary camera that takes adequately clear images. LED flash aids the rear camera in low light conditions. The front camera is also 8-megapixels. The battery that powers the phone is 3,050mAh that lasts a day, while the 2.5D features a 2,500mAh battery.

The Mega 3 comes with triple SIM support with 4G LTE support. Other connectivity options the phone has to offer include Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The Mega 3 features a microUSB 2.0 port on the bottom edge for charging and data transfers. GPS facilitates navigation on the Mega 3 aided by A-GPS. The home button is also a fingerprint sensor.
