Huawei Honor Magic 2

The Honor Magic 2 is the first flagship from Huawei that ships with a slider design. The phone looks quite exquisite with a triple rear camera setup. It has a 16MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 24MP monochrome sensor with f/1.8 aperture, and a 16MP sensor with a super wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, there are other features such as AIS for image stabilisation. On the front as well, the phone bears a triple camera setup, wherein one sensor makes up for the 3D Face Unlock functionality. There is a 16MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 2MP+2MP dual lenses with f/2.4 aperture that enable 3D Face Unlock alongside adding depth to the images. One of the highlights is that there is a slider on the top panel, which houses the front cameras alongside other sensors. It automatically slides up and down when using the Face Unlock.

The Honor Magic 2 boasts a 6.39-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display at 1080x2340 pixels resolution with 403ppi of pixel density, and a 91.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. The slider on the top panel swiftly moves up and down whenever any of the front camera functioning is summoned including the 3D Face Unlock feature. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor with two 2.6GHz of Cortex-A76 cores and four 1.8GHz of Cortex-A55 cores. The phone comes in variants with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of non-expandable internal storage. Regarding software, the phone runs Android 9.0 Pie-based Magic UI 2.0.

The Honor Magic 2 is backed by a 3,500mAh battery with support for Huawei's proprietary 40W Magic Charge fast charging technology that is claimed to charge the device in just 55 minutes. The phone supports connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C port, GPS/ A-GPS, and NFC. Even though the phone misses out on the 3.5mm jack, it does packs a USB Type-C to 3.5mm headphone jack in the bundle. Interestingly, the phone is also dustproof and splash-proof, thanks to IPX2 rating.
