Intex Aqua Y2 Remote Details

The definition of what constitutes a budget handset has changed over the course of the last eighteen months, with the introduction of the Android One initiative and launch of affordable value for money devices in the sub- 6,000 segment.
Intex is trying to do one better with the Aqua Y2 Remote, which is available for just 4,000. For that amount, it is hard to imagine that the device has hardware worth writing home about, but it does make for a really good device for first-time buyers, or someone getting into Android phones for the first time.
With the Aqua Y2 Remote, you get a device with a 4-inch IPS display boasting a resolution of 800 x 480, a 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 CPU, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and a microSD card slot that can accommodate a 32GB memory card. On the software side of things, the Aqua Y2 Remote comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, and while it isn t the latest version of Android available, you do at least get a lag-free software interface thanks to the optimizations introduced in KitKat for low-memory devices.
As far as imaging is concerned, the Aqua Y2 Remote has a 5MP camera with dual-LED flash at the back, along with a 2MP front shooter. The front camera can take decent selfies, and can be used for video calls. Connectivity-wise, the device features 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and micro-USB. Dual-SIM functionality, a facet that is a mainstay in this segment, is also included.
Powering all that hardware is a 1,500mAh battery that is touted to provide a battery life of one day on a full charge. Available in grey, black and white variants, the Aqua Y2 Remote may not turn many heads, but it is a decent workhorse considering the price it is being sold for.
