Design And Display
Unlike its predecessors, the Jio Phone 3 features a touchscreen interface. This budget phone unsurprisingly has a full plastic body. Compared to other phones, this sub 5k phone has significantly thick bezels. To keep the cost in check, Reliance has also ditched a fingerprint sensor. The Jio Phone 3 sports a 5-inch LCD display with 720 x 1280 pixels. The panel has a conventional 16:9 aspect ratio.
Processor And Cameras
At the heart of the Jio Phone 3 is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. The phone comes with 2GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage, which is a quite an upgrade over 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. The Jio Phone 3 also features a microSD card slot for storage expansion. In the photography department, the handset offers a 5 MP main camera on the back. It settles for a modest 2 MP sensor on the front, which doesn't sound enticing for selfie aficionados.
Battery, Connectivity, And Software
The latest Jio phone packs in a 2800 mAh battery. The handset is made to work on Jio's 4G VoLTE network. Other connectivity essentials include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS (Assisted GPS). With improved specs, the Jio Phone 3 ditches the KaiOS in favor of Android Go.
