LG G Flex is the first smartphone from LG to feature a flexible OLED screen that has a slightly curved screen and body for more comfort and convenience to users.LG has mentioned that the back of the G Flex is coated with a substance that will be able to heal tiny scratches or other blemishes that occur over time. Under the hood,the device is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal memory.
Screen and Design
The G Flex features a 6-inch 720p screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720, which gives it a pixel density of 245 ppi. The screen is a curved OLED that is made of plastic that allows for flex. The design of the device is similarly facilitated to take advantage of the curved screen, and has a noticeable curve running along the side of the device. The advantages that are achieved by this curved design are not inherent, but it is quite innovative.
Camera and Multimedia
Coming to the camera and multimedia features of the device, it has a 13 MP camera on the rear with features such as GPS, auto-focus, image stabilization, etc and will have the ability to shoot videos in full HD resolution. On the face of the device, there is another secondary camera of 1.2 MP which could be used for video calling. The phone is capable of playing common multimedia formats including but not limited to WAV, AAC, AVI, MP3, MP4, etc.
Connectivity and Features
This phone has the most advanced connectivity features available on any other top-end smartphones such as NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, 3G, Micro-USB v2.0 connector and a bevy of sensors that assist in location tracking and device orientation. LG has also included a lot of additional software features along with its custom Android launcher that has a nice look to it. The custom UI is built on Android 4.2.2 jelly Bean.
