Lava Z2s

Lava has found it hard to compete in the mid-range segment in India, forcing the company to shift its focus towards the affordable market, where it has more takers purely because of its brand name. And now it has upgraded its existing lineup with new phone Lava Z2s. The new Lava phone comes with a 6.51-inch HD+ display that offers 720x1600 pixels resolution which produces pixel density of 270 PPI. The screen features a water drop notch design that houses the selfie camera. The Z2s comes powered by octa-core MediaTek chipset, paired with 2GB RAM and offers 32GB internal storage and further expandable up to 512GB using the dedicated card slot. Lava Z2s gets a single 8MP rear camera with and on the front, the phone has a 5MP selfie camera that also supports video calls. The phone comes loaded with a 5000mAh battery that supports charging via USB Type C port. Other features on the phone are face unlock and headphone jack and Infrared. Other Lava phones you might know are Lava Z2 Max, Lava BeU and the Lava Z4.

Verdict
Lava Z2s runs on Android Go version which makes it a hard-core budget device with 2GB RAM on board. It comes powered by octa-core chipset but everything else about this phone is strictly average. You get single cameras on both sides. The display does come with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection which is rare at this price. And even the 5,000mAh battery should last you for a while. Worth skipping if you need a budget phone because better options out there.

The power button and volume rocker are on the right side of the phone. For security purpose, Lava Z2s only has face unlock support that works through the selfie camera.
