Micromax Unite 4

Micromax has expanded its Unite series of smartphones with the announcement of the Unite 4. The latest Android-based device comes at an affordable price and is available across all offline retail stores. The device is available in silver, champagne and grey colours. The device is aimed towards first-time smartphone users and packs decent hardware.

The Micromax Unite 4 runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box thus providing users with the latest Android experience at an affordable cost. The Unite 4 is the first smartphone out of the homegrown manufacturer to launch with Indus OS 2.0. Indus OS 2.0 brings about a host of new and attractive features including support for 12 regional languages, App Bazaar (which is Indus' regional language app marketplace), Indus-to-Indus free SMS services, Indus Swipe feature, and text-to-speech technology in six Indian languages. One of the major highlights of the App Bazaar is that you can download and pay for apps without e-mail ids and credit cards. The device also ships with a fingerprint sensor which is fast and accurate. The device bears a plastic body with the volume rockers and power buttons on the right. 

In terms of performance, the Unite 4 is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core MediaTek processor that delivers decent performance. The chipset is paired with 1GB of RAM that takes care of minimal multitasking. The entry-level smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera that is coupled with an LED flash to capture images and record videos in both bright and dark environments. If you love clicking selfies, you can use the 5-megapixel front-facing shooter to support your cause.  

The Micromax Unite 4 features a 5-inch HD display that is combined with decent viewing angles. The screen on the device can be read easily while indoors but the display gradually fades out once you stroll out in the sun. There is ample space to download and install apps, you can also keep your personal data close as there is an option to expand further. The device comes with 8GB of onboard storage which can further be expanded using a microSD card up to 32GB. 

The Unite 4 supports all the regular and standard connectivity options besides 4G LTE support. There are options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a microUSB 2.0 port that can be used to transfer files to and fro from your computer. The smartphone packs a Li-Ion 2,500 mAh battery that can keep the device functioning throughout the day for a normal user.
