Microsoft Lumia 640XL

The Nokia Lumia 640XL is an entry level Windows phone priced at under Rs. 10,000 featuring the Lumia Denim OS and simple core specs.

The Lumia 640XL has a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display that shows bright colors. Its HD (720 x 1280 p) resolution and 259 PPI pixel density assures high quality content on its wide screen. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 against physical damage. The phone measures 157.9 x 81.5 x 9 mm in terms of dimensions, while weighing 171 grams.

The phone runs Windows 8.1 for mobiles, version Lumia Denim on a MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset with a quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor and 1GB of RAM capable of handling basic tasks without running into too much trouble. Graphics on the phone are handled by an Adreno 305 GPU enabling the phone to play Full HD videos. Memory on the phone can be expanded to 256GB with an SD card.

The rear camera is 13-megapixels with an f/2.0 aperture, ?” sensor that might need ample light to work at its best, autofocus and LED flash, and is capable of recording videos in Full HD or 1080p at 30fps. The front camera is 5-megapixels, also capable of recording videos at 1080 p. The Lumia 640XL is powered by a 3,000mAh non-removable Li-ion battery that will last a day with moderate use.

The Lumia 640XL supports dual micro-SIM cards in dedicated slots as well as 4G LTE connections. The phone also supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 for charging and data transfer, and A-GPS and GLONASS for navigation. Sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and a compass.
