Nokia 4.2

For a budget phone, the Nokia 4.2 is quite a looker. The first thing that you might notice looking at the front fascia is the rather large’chin’ area which is unusual on handsets sold in 2019. The display used on the Nokia 4.2 is a 5.7-inch Si TFT LCD  panel with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels in the 19:9 aspect ratio. The panel also has a distinct u shaped notch at the top where the single front-facing camera is located. The Nokia 4.2 is offered in two color options; black and pink sand. The phone gets a glossy back panel at the rear and a 2.5D glass layer at the front.

The Nokia 4.2 gets a fairly decent dual camera set up at the rear that consists of a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and autofocus. The secondary camera at the rear is a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The main camera supports phase detection autofocus and also gets a dedicated flash for low light situations. The front camera setup consists of a single 8-megapixel fixed focus lens for selfies and video calls. An interesting hardware feature on the Nokia 4.2 is the dedicated Google Assistant button that can be pressed to invoke Google Assistant anytime you want. The Nokia 4.2 gets a fingerprint scanner at the rear for additional security.

Being an entry-level device, the Nokia 4.2 gets a basic Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset that is based on a 12 nm manufacturing process. This chipset integrates four Cortex-A53 high-efficiency cores operating at 1.45 GHz and four high-performance Cortex-A53 cores operating at 1.95 GHz. The graphics is handled by the Adreno 505 GPU.
