OnePlus 8

The OnePlus 8, similar to its predecessor, features a metal-and-glass sandwich design, and looks very similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro, except the pop-up camera mechanism. The phone has a 6.5-inch Fluid AMOLED screen at the front with Full HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, and lamination of Corning Gorilla Glass 6 scratch-resistant panel. There is an under-display optical fingerprint reader that s fast and accurate. The phone features a water-splash resistant design. The OnePlus 8 also has the signature OnePlus-style three-way sound profile switch.

OnePlus new smartphone every year comes with a brand new Snapdragon processing chipset, and the OnePlus 8 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. It has eight 64-bit CPU cores, with one of them featuring higher clock speed than the rest. The chipset also integrates A-GPS, LTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth, USB, and other connectivity features. The phone runs Android 10 out of the box, with OxygenOS customizations. So, features like Smart SMS, Shelf, icon pack customization, icon shape customization, Reading Mode, Zen Mode, and OnePlus Switch will be available on the phone.

The OnePlus 8 features a triple-camera setup on its rear, similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro, arranged in a vertical fashion. However, look closely, and you ll find a 64MP primary camera sensor with OIS, Dual-Pixel PDAF, F1.6 aperture, and 4K 60fps video recording. There are two more sensors: 16MP camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP camera with a 3x telephoto lens. Both these cameras can record 4K 60fps videos as well. Plus, there s an option to record 4K videos with a wide dynamic range. There s ultra-smooth video recording, thanks to OIS and EIS, as well as 960fps ultra slow-motion video recording. At the front, the phone uses a 12MP selfie camera with autofocus and 4K video recording.

An upgrade from the OnePlus 7T, the OnePlus 8 has a slightly larger capacity battery: a 4000mAh unit. The phone is compatible with 30W Warp Charge 30T fast charging technology via the bundled charger and USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable. Furthermore, the phone also comes with Qi wireless charging, something that OnePlus users have been asking for years. The phone s wireless charging is compatible with up to 20W Qi wireless charging speeds for faster charging even without wires.
