P51 is Panasonic's first smartphone in India. The phone looks very slim and also weighs just about 135 grams. A cover comes along with the phone that protects it from dust and scratches. The phone has an amazing 5-Inch HD IPS capacitive display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone has a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with 1 GB of RAM for efficient task switching and multitasking. The phone also comes with a capacitive stylus that lets you write, draw and perform additional features, much like Samsung's Galaxy Note. This device comes with the latest version of Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean).
The phone also has a dual-SIM functionality that allows you to use two SIM cards on the same device.
The phone sports an 8-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and has all the regular features such as geo-tagging, autofocus and face detection. The camera can also record HD videos at 30fps. The phone has a secondary camera that can record 720p videos and will be extremely useful for video calling and close up snapshots.
The phone supports most of the audio and video formats such as MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV, MP4, WMV, H.264 and H.263.
The Panasonic P51 features all the basic connectivity a smartphone should have. The phone can connect to the Internet via 2G, 3G,EDGE/GPRS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n along with Wi-Fi Direct. Panasonic claims that the phone has highest connectivity speed (up to 42Mbps). You can also use the phone as a Wi-Fi hotpot. The phone also has Bluetooth for file transferring and micro-USB v2.0. Also included is a FM tuner so that you can listen to live radio while on the go.
The Panasonic P51 features a 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery that should be more than sufficient for a full day's worth of heavy usage on a single charge. There is 4 GB of internal storage under the hood and the phone features a microSD card slot as well, supporting up to 32 GB of storage.
