The year 2019 saw Samsung release two new series the M-series and the A-series to take on the Chinese smartphone manufacturers who were cashing in on India s rapidly growing mobile phone markets. The A-series had high-end phones like the A70 and A80 and also had base models like the A10 and A20. And now we have the Galaxy A72, which is the latest phone in the A-series. The phone comes with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display offering a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and sports a waterdrop notch at the top. Powering the Galaxy A72 is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset and the phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The rear camera is a 64MP + 12MP + 5MP + 5MP quad-shooter setup and for selfies, you get a crisp 32MP camera embedded in the display notch. You get a 4500mAh powering the smartphone which also supports fast charging. The display on the Samsung Galaxy A72 is stunning, thanks to the rich 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel that offers a full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The screen has a pixel density of 393 ppi. As mentioned earlier, there is a waterdrop notch present on the display which is also equipped with an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
Snapdragon 765 Chipset, Quad Camera
The Galaxy A72 is a mid-range phone so the performance is quite decent thanks to the octa-core Snapdragon 765 SoC. Taking care of the graphics processing is an Adreno 620 GPU. You get 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory as well, and you can add up to 1TB of expandable memory thanks to the micro SD slot. For photography, you get a 64MP primary camera paired with a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and also a 5MP telephoto lens and a 5MP depth sensor. And you can shoot selfies and record 1080p videos with the 32MP selfie camera. The phone runs on One UI and is currently offering Android Pie.

The battery is a 4500mAh cell which is great news as Samsung phones tend to be power-hungry. But 4500mAh should be more than sufficient for a full day of use. You also get fast charging so you can recharge your phone quickly. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and A-GPS. You get a Type-C port for charging and the phone packs a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
