Samsung Galaxy On5

The Galaxy On5 is one of the two devices that spearhead Samsung's new On series of smartphones, with a design that's made to impress over lower mid-range specifications.

The Galaxy On5 features a display that measures 5 inches in size, making it easy to operate yet large enough to enjoy media content and web browsing. The display has HD (1280x720 pixels) resolution, which equates to sharp and high-quality image output. Powering the phone is a quad-core Exynos 3475 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, along with 1.5 GB of RAM for basic multitasking and effortless operation for basic tasks like social networking, browsing and more.

The Galaxy On5 comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera for taking still images with high detail. Being a low-cost phone, the Galaxy On5 should provide middling imaging performance, in addition to shooting Full HD videos. For selfies, the phone carries a 5-megapixel camera sensor on the front. Storing images, videos and other media is possible on the 8GB of internal storage that can also be used for installing apps, with the option to add up to 128 GB of more storage via the microSD card slot included on the device.

Connectivity on the Galaxy On5 is well equipped, with 4G LTE connectivity for fast internet access on the go. The device also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS, along with a microUSB port for wired data transfer. A 2,600 mAh battery operates under the hood, which should be able to provide more than a day of moderate usage. On the design front, the Galaxy On5 comes with a high-quality plastic build and a leather-like back panel for a premium feel on a budget price tag.

The Galaxy On5 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, with the Samsung TouchWiz UX on top for additional features and functionality over vanilla Android. Users can add to the experience with access to a plethora of apps from the Google Play Store, and also take advantage of popular Google services like Gmail, YouTube, Maps and others through native apps preloaded on the device.
