The Samsung Gear 2 is a Tizen-based smartwatch. It has a 1.63-inch square Super AMOLED touchscreen display. The device comes with a 2-megapixel digital camera. It has 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage capacity. Samsung Gear 2 comes with a 1.0 GHz dual-core Exynos chipset. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0. The device is powered by a non-removable 300 mAh battery.

Samsung Gear 2 is the new smartwatch unveiled by the Korean smartphone manufacturers. The previous Samsung Galaxy Gear featured Android operating system but it is not so with the new Samsung Gear 2. The new device is based on Samsung's own Tizen operating system.
The main feature of any watch is its display and the Samsung Gear 2 comes with a 1.63-inch square Super AMOLED display with (320 x 320 pixels) screen resolution which reflects an effective pixel density of 278 PPI. However, the display that looks great indoors is not very appealing while outdoors. The smartwatch is powered by a 1.0 GHz dual-core Exynos chipset which is a bit slower when compared to the Snapdragon quad-core processor in LG G watch. However, the device offers multiple features which is a new facet of any smartwatch. The device comes with a Heart Rate Monitor, Sleep Tracker, IR Blaster, Music player and a Home button that makes it easier for the user to navigate back to the home screen. The device is 10 mm thick and weighs 68 grams.
The smartwatch also comes with a built in 2-megapixel digital camera with autofocus. In terms of memory, the device has 512 MB RAM paired with an internal storage capacity of 4 GB. Connectivity options that tag along with the Samsung Gear 2 is Bluetooth 4.0. The smartwatch features IP67 which ensures that the device is Water proof and dust resistant. The Samsung Gear 2 comes with standard 22 mm wrist strap and is available in three different colour variants: Black, Orange and Brown. Samsung's fitness app is a new addition to Gear 2. There is built-in coaching for running, walking or cycling and Gear 2 rolls out status updates on your progress. In terms of battery life, the smartwatch is powered by a non-removable 300mAh battery which needs to be charged quite frequently to keep the device functioning.
