Sony SmartWatch 2 SW2 is a successor of the firm's popular SmartWatch. The wearable device is compatible with any smartphone with Android Ice Cream Sandwich and later versions. It can be used to make and receive calls apart from reading texts, emails and posts from social networking websites like Twitter, Facebook etc.

Sony SmartWatch looks clean and compact just like its predecessor. It weights around 122.5 grams with the wrist strap. In terms of thickness, it is around 9 mm. The strap that comes with the SmartWatch is available in various colors, patterns and materials. So you can choose one depending on your taste.

It has a 1.6-inch 220 x 176 pixels LCD touchscreen and Sony claims that it is brightly visible in sunlight and waterproof as well.

The SmartWatch 2 has to be synchronized with your Android phone in order to make most its features work, otherwise it only shows time. The stock applications of Sony SmartWatch include Alarm, Torch, Settings and Smart Connect. Through Smart Connect, you can load apps and make your SmartWatch 2 more productive. The device will display notifications from Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, texts and IM available on your phone.

The SmartWatch 2 is powered by a 200 MHz ARM-Cortex M3 chip. Apart from Bluetooth v3.0, the device comes with NFC connectivity to facilitate remote access to your phone. The SmartConnect app of Sony SmartWatch 2 is meant to pair your device with headsets and speakers. The device has a microUSB port covered with a flap on the left side. As for the battery life, Sony SmartWatch 2 needs to be charged once on alternative days after heavy usage and once a week after light use.
