Timex Blink

Timex in collaboration with domestic startup Blink has introduced the Timex Blink smart fitness band. The fitness wearable device consists of two elements: a curved stainless steel core, and a user-replaceable strap. At the back, there is a micro-USB port which is covered with a thick rubber flap for water resistance. Sadly, there is no heart-rate sensor.

The Timex Blink automatically lights up and shows the time when you raise your wrist. The fitness band also gives you information about the date and the battery status. There is a capacitive button which gives more information about steps taken, calories burnt, and distance travelled when tapped. The band can also track your sleep, but the data can only be viewed on the companion smartphone app.

There is also an option to enable notifications on the band which notifies you when you get alerts on the phone. One can also set alarms via the app. One thing that the band provides over other wearables is the SOS feature, once set, long pressing the button on the band sends an SOS to the saved contact along with last known location.
The 90mAh battery on the band will last for a week before needing charge. The micro-USB port is convenient for charging the band.
