Spice XLife 431q Details

The Spice XLife 431q is one of four smartphones launched in the X Life lineup that is meant to be affordable as they are targeted towards first-time smartphone buyers in Tier II and Tier III Indian cities. The XLife 431q features a 4.0-inch LCD display, quad-core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM, microSD card slot, Android 4.4 KitKat, dual-SIM connectivity, and a 1,750 mAh battery. There s a 5-megapixel primary camera with an LED flash, and a 1.3-megapixel secondary camera. The device was launched in June 2015 with an original price tag of Rs. 3,999.
The Spice XLife 431q has a polycarbonate body with some funky colour options. The display is accompanied by three capacitive buttons, front-facing camera, and an earpiece. The volume rocker and power button (that also acts as a lock/unlock key) are present on the right hand side. The camera and LED flash are present on the removable back panel that hides a removable battery, microSD card slot and two SIM card slots. Headphone jack and microUSB ports are present at the bottom of the device.
The 4.0-inch TFT LCD display on the XLife 431q has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, but it is not protected by Gorilla Glass, a norm in smartphones these days. It boasts capacitive multitouch panel that provides good touchscreen experience. There s a 5-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus and dual-LED flash that can record 720p HD videos. A 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera has been used to carry out video calling and capturing self-portraits.
A 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (of unknown make) and 512MB RAM help the device in performing all the low-level calculations. There s 4GB of ROM, but the actual storage space available to the end user will be lower than that. You can expand the storage using a microSD card slot though (up to 32GB at least). It comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, but there s no word from the company about Android 5.0 Lollipop update, let along Android M. In terms of connectivity, the device gets the basics covered a dual-SIM card slot that supports 2G and 3G (HSPA+) networks, Wi-Fi 802.1 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0, and A-GPS. There s microUSB v2.0 port for data transfer and and 3.5 mm auxiliary port for headphone connectivity.
