The launch of P-series devices by Chinese smartphone giant Huawei is one of the most awaited events in the Android world. The reason for this is because Huawei has now established itself as one of the most innovative and exciting players in the smartphone market. The company manages to impress us year after year and this year is no different as the company has now revealed one of its newest 5G compatible smartphones — the P40 Pro Plus. As the name indicates, the phone sits right at the top of the models that Huawei has revealed as part of the P-series line-up this year. The P40 Pro Plus sports curved 6.58-inch OLED display offering a resolution of 1200 x 2640 pixels. Powering the device is Huawei’s home-made Kirin 990 5G chipset that offers quite the stiff competition to the best Snapdragon SoCs. The phone packs 8GB RAM with 512GB of storage space. As expected, the camera specs are impressive as you get a versatile 50MP + 40MP + 8MP + 8MP quadruple camera setup on the rear and on the front, there is a 32MP + 2MP camera combo sitting in the punch-hole. Huawei P40 Pro Plus Details

Huawei’s P-series phones always look premium and this baby is no different. The display is stunning with a resolution of 1200 x 2640 on the vibrant OLED display. The 6.58-inch screen is protected by Gorilla Glass and it has a pixel density of 441 ppi. The screen has a refresh rate of 90Hz and features an in-display optical fingerprint sensor as well.
Kirin 990 5G Chipset, Quad Camera
Huawei packs its top of the line Kirin chipsets on the P-series and the new P40 Pro Plus carries the Kirin 990 5G SoC. The chipset has a Mali-G76 MP16 GPU on board running graphics processing. The operating system on the P40 Pro Plus is Huawei’s custom Android ROM, EMUI 10, currently offering Android 10. The device packs 8GB of RAM with 512GB of internal memory and you can add up to 256GB of expandable memory. You get a quad camera system on the rear consisting of a 50MP primary wide shooter, a 40MP ultrawide secondary, an 8MP shooter with 10x optical zoom plus an 8MP telephoto lens. The rear camera setup features optical image stabilization as well as artificial image stabilization, which is software based stabilization. For selfies, the phone is equipped with a dual camera system on the front with a 32 primary paired with a depth sensor. The P40 Pro Plus can shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second.
 
4200mAh Battery, 40W Fast Charging, Connectivity
The battery specs of the P40 Pro Plus looks impressive at 4200mAh, but it does come down to how you use the phone. Then again, you do get 40W fast charging to get the phone back to full capacity rapidly. Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, and A-GPS. The phone features a Type C port but no 3.5mm headphone jack.
