Motorola Moto M

The Lenovo-branded Moto M is the newest addition to the 2016 line-up of Moto devices. The device is aimed at the lower mid-range price range. The Moto M is the first M series smartphone device from Lenovo. The device is a cut-down version of the Moto Z Play which was recently launched.

The display on the Moto M, unlike the Moto Z Play, is an IPS LCD panel with a screen-size of 5.5-inch comprised with Full HD resolution which is the most you can get right now at this price tag. When it comes to photography, the Moto M is provided with a 16-megapixel shooter, the same unit found on the Moto G4 Plus. The camera unit is packed with great technologies such as hybrid autofocus which comprises of laser and phase detection autofocus. Apart from that the Moto M also comes with an 8-megapixel secondary camera for sharp and high-resolution selfies, with this, the Moto M becomes the first mid-range device from Motorola in the mid-range price device to feature an 8MP camera.  

Moto devices are known for packing latest Android OS that does not contain any bloatware. Moto has always focused on optimisation, and it is no different with Moto M, the Moto M comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, which can later be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat. The manufacturer has done a number of optimisations under the hood which not only makes the device smoother but also adds many additional functionalities over the stock Android OS. The most important aspect of the device nowadays it is performance, and the Moto M provides performance with an octa-core Mediatek P15  chipset and 3GB RAM which is powerful enough to provide with smooth overall performance including the ability to deliver lag-free gaming performance.

Lenovo has added its Turbo Charge technology to the Moto M to quickly charge the Moto M’s 3,050 mAh battery, and sports a microUSB Type-C port for syncing and charging. The feature rich device is also packed with all the connectivity options one can desire for, it is equipped with dual-SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS.  Last but not the least, the Moto M also comes with a Fingerprint scanner to provide the user with the ability to unlock the device quickly without any hassle of entering passcode or patterns.
