HMD Global had a tough time launching phones in 2020 mostly because of the issues caused by the pandemic. The company has delayed its products for other markets as well. But slowly we are seeing them refresh the existing lineup. And the latest to make its mark is the Nokia 5.4 6GB RAM variant. The latest Nokia phone in the market boasts a 6.39-inch HD+ display that supports 720x1560 pixels resolution. This translates into pixel density of 269PPI. The screen gets Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect against accidents drop or scratches. Nokia 5.4 comes powered by octa-core Snapdragon 662 processor and this variant gets 6GB RAM and onboard storage of 64GB. You can expand the space further up to 512GB using the dedicated microSD card slot. The phone runs on stock Android 10 operating system with the promise of getting Android 11 in the coming months. Thankfully, Nokia has managed to upgrade the imaging capabilities with its mid-range phone. It has four rear cameras that include 48MP sensor, 5MP wide-angle sensor, 2MP sensor and 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the phone has 16MP selfie camera. This Nokia phone comes loaded with a 4,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging via USB Type C port. The phone has a rear fingerprint sensor and comes with 3.5-mm headphone jack. Some of the other popular Nokia mobiles include the Nokia 7.2, Nokia 4.3 and the Nokia 8.1.

Verdict
Nokia 5.4 is the latest device from the brand in the market. This device sits in the mid-range bracket, with focus on pure Android experience and not going overboard with hardware capabilities. Having said that, the phone has quad rear camera with diverse lenses and a capable front camera. The punch hole design is welcomed in the segment and having a phone that does basics is a necessity. But HD+ screen quality at this price, with 64GB storage is a downer. You have other options with better hardware in this price range.

Nokia 5.4 sports a 6.39-inch display with support for HD+ resolution at 720x1560 pixels. This translates into pixel density of 269 PPI. The screen gets punch hole design that houses the front camera. And for added protection against scratches, the display has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer. The bezel-less display offers wide screen estate area for viewing content and the punch hole cut out is the only portion not available. The power button is on the right, along with the volume rocker. On the left, you will find the dedicated Google Assistant button.

Nokia has used the octa-core Snapdragon 662 processor to power the 5.4 smartphone. This comes paired with 6GB RAM for optimum performance for the additional price. The chipset also has integrated Adreno 610 GPU that supports all the graphics processing done on the phone. For storage, you get 64GB onboard that is further expandable up to 512GB using the dedicated card slot. This means you can use the second SIM and expand storage. The phone has four cameras at the back, which includes 48MP primary sensor, 5MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, 2MP sensor and 2MP depth sensor. While on the front, Nokia 5.4 has 16MP selfie camera that also lets you take video calls.
