Panasonic P55 Novo 8GB

The Panasonic P55 Novo is the latest mid-range smartphone to be launched from the stables of Panasonic in the P series. The device comes with some interesting features though the software on it is currently a bit lacking.

The smartphone sports a 5.3-inch HD IPS display. The screen has a rather odd size of 5.3 inches but the bezel around the display is not too wide and hence it manages to keep a smallish form factor despite having such a large display. The display resolution is 1280x720 pixels and hence it has a pixel density of 271 PPI.

The device is powered by an octa-core processor and comes with a clock speed of 1.4GHz. The octa-core processor delivers robust performance and being paired with 1GB of RAM to deliver an effortless multi-tasking experience. Memory on the device comes in the form of 8GB of on-board storage which can further be bumped up to 32GB via an external microSD card.

The dual-SIM smartphone comes with the dual standby technology and also has a host of other connectivity options such as the Smart IR-based remote control option letting it blast IR frequencies enabling control of a host of devices. In addition, it is 3G enabled and comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a microUSB 2.0 slot.

Powering the smartphone is a 2500 mAh battery which can keep the phone ticking throughout the day. The device is available in Midnight Blue, Champagne Gold and Smoke Gray colours. In the imaging section, it comes with a 13-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel front shooter. Both the cameras come with LED flashes while the rear shooter boasts of a triple LED flash. The front camera with LED flash is bound to please the selfie lovers. The device ships with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
