The display on this phone should have been brighter. Its rear camera lacks a low-light mode. UI is filled with ads. The phone still uses a dated microUSB port for charging.

Considering its price tag, the Redmi Y3 is quite a looker. It has a nice gradient finish at the back only interrupted by a protruding lens along with a fingerprint sensor. On the other side, you get thin-bezel design with a tiny waterdrop notch at the forehead. The Redmi Y3 has a splash-proof nano-coating. The phone sports a 6-inch screen with 1520 × 720 pixels. At HD+ resolution, the screen has pixel density of 180 ppi. The Redmi Y3's IPS (In Plane Switching) panel has aspect ratio of 19:9.

At the core is a Snapdragon 660 chip from Qualcomm. It comes with four Kryo 260 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four Kryo 260 threads running at 1.8 GHz. The gaming bit is handled by the Adreno 512 GPU.
