Gionee S11

Gionee announced the release of an upgraded version of their popular Gionees S10 smartphone, the Gionee S11. Gionee has gone all-in with the new phablet; which features a near bezel-less widescreen display, along with top of the line hardware. The device is  155.82 x 72.58 x 6.95mm in size and weighs approximately 178 grams. 

The Gionee S11 features a 6-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080x2160(402ppi pixel density, 18:9 aspect ratio). Powering the massive display is a Mali-T880 MP2 GPU. The primary cameras are 16+8-megapixels with support for continuous shooting, high dynamic range, digital zoom, auto flash, face detection, touch to focus, dual-tone LED flash and panorama. It can shoot HD videos at 30 fps. The secondary cameras are an even more impressive dual 20+8-megapixels with LED flash. The performance of the display is commendable, guaranteeing a stellar multimedia experience.

The Gionee S11 sports an octa-core MediaTek MT6757 processor with four cores clocked at 2.3GHz and four cores clocked at 1.6GHz, along with a massive 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD expansion. The device is powered by a non-removable 3,600mAh Li-pol battery. It is also expected to sport a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, as in standard in most smartphones today. The multitasking capabilities of the phone are impeccable, owing to the high amount of RAM, but we would have loved to see a Qualcomm SoC instead of a MediaTek, as the former tends to be better. The Gionee S11 is expected to run a customised version of Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box. 

The Gionee S11 is a dual SIM phone, with both slots compatible with 4G and VoLTE. Other connectivity features 802.11 b/g/n/ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS and a micro USB port for charging and data transfer.
