Huawei Mate 30

The Huawei Mate 30 is a significant upgrade over its processor. The first change is with the screen which is now an AMOLED panel that measures 6.62-inches diagonally. This screen supports the DCI-P3 color space and is even capable of HDR10 playback. This Full HD+ resolution screen also comes with an embedded fingerprint scanner. While there is only a single earpiece speaker at the front of the phone located just above the waterdrop notch, it can work in conjunction with the bottom firing speaker for a stereo effect. For protection, the front panel gets a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. The entire handset even comes with an IP53 rating for protection against water and dust.

Powering the Mate 30 is Huawei s latest HiSilicon Kirin 990 chipset that is built over a 7nm process using EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) lithography. This chipset has been paired with 6GB of RAM. For storage, the phone offers 128GB of onboard memory with support for an addition 512GB with the use of a microSD card. As for software, the Mate 30 debuts Huawei s EMUI 10 experience which has been built around Android 10.

For imaging, the Mate 30 comes with three lenses at the back. The first is a 16MP standard sensor, the second is a 40MP ultra-wide sensor, and the third is an 8MP telephoto sensor. This setup is capable of 4K video recording at up to 30 frames per seconds. Meanwhile, a 24MP camera has been provided at the front for selfies. As for the battery, we have a large 4200mAh cell keeping the lights on. This battery charges over a USB Type-C port and support 40W fast charging. Huawei still provides a 3.5mm headphone jack with the Mate 30. There is even an IR blaster that lets the phone be used as a remote control for household devices. The rest of the connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi.
