LYF Water 5

The LYF Water 5 is an entry-level device with unique design strategy. The device has glass finish on the back and a metallic frame that can be seen from the sides of the device. The device carries large bezels around the display that makes the device measure 142 x 70.5 x 7.7mm. The LYF Water 5 is available only in Black variant and weighs 136 grams.

The device features a 5-inch IPS LCD with a pixel density of 294 PPI. The screen is protected with Asahi Dragontrail Glass that resists scratches and drops up to an extent. The display also supports multi-touch up to five fingers. The primary camera on the LYF Water 5 is a 13-megapixel autofocus shooter coupled with LED flash to aid in low-light conditions. Features like Manual HDR, face detection and panorama, are also present. The rear-facing camera can record videos up to full-HD (1920x1080) resolution at 30 frames per second. To handle selfies, the LYF Water 5 features a 5-megapixel front-facing camera which can also record full-HD videos but at lower 15 frames per second. One can expect average image quality from both the cameras as this a budget device.

The device runs on the outdated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. There is no guaranteed update to the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow yet. As the device ships with stock Android, there aren't any added features such as shooting modes in camera, ability to use different themes, etc. In terms of performance, the LYF Water 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset that includes four Cortex-A53 cores which are clocked at 1.2GHz. To handle the gaming and other graphic demanding applications, there is Adreno 306 GPU. The multitasking is helped with 2GB of RAM. For storing applications and multimedia, the LYF Water 5 has 16GB of internal memory.

The smartphone is fuelled by a 2,920 mAh Li-Po battery which is more than enough for a device with a 5-inch display. The LYF Water 5 is rated for 15 hours of talk time on 4G network, and it can play HD videos continuously for up to 5 hours. The LYF Water 5 has rich connectivity features that include dual-SIM 4G LTE (4G+2G) with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS and a microUSB port.
