Lava Iris Fuel F2

Lava launched a new smartphone in the Fuel series, aimed at users looking for an Android-based smartphone within a budget. Lava is mostly known for its budget smartphones and the company continues to follow up, by rolling out the Iris Fuel F2 at an affordable price point.

The Lava Iris Fuel F2 runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS (Operating System) out-of-the-box. This older version of the Android within the device doesn t really surprise us, given Lava s effort to cram all possible features into one very cheap smartphone. The device packs a quad-core processor, clocked at 1.3GHz under the hood coupled with 512MB of RAM. However, the RAM will not help in multitasking but is expected to help you switch effectively from one app to the other with minimum lag. The handset houses 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded by an additional 32GB via a microSD card slot.

In the camera segment, the device flaunts a 5-megapixel rear snapper with f/2.4 aperture and an LED flash. A VGA (0.3-megapixel) camera sits on the front and helps with selfies and video calls. The Lava Iris Fuel F2 sports a 5-inch FWGA (854 x 450 pixels) display with good colour reproduction at 196ppi. The screen has Gorilla Glass on top for protection against scratches.

In terms of connectivity, this dual-SIM smartphone includes options such as Bluetooth 2.1v, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, 3G, and FM Radio. The micro-USB port provides external media connectivity.

Fueled by a 3,000mAh Li-Po non-replaceable battery, the Lava Iris Fuel F2 claims to deliver up to 15.5 hours of talk time, along with up to 300 hours of standby time on 3G. The handset measures 142.5 x 72.5 x 10.5mm (height x weight x thickness) and weighs in at 153 grams.
