Micromax Infinity N12

Micromax was once a leading brand in the budget smartphones segment. However, after the Chinese smartphone makers like Xiaomi and Honor entered the Indian market, Micromax quite lost its game. The fact that the brand did not launch any good smartphones also contributes to its lower sales figures. Micromax is trying to change all of that with the new Infinity N12 smartphone.

The Micromax Infinity N12 has a 6.19-inch IPS LCD. While most smartphones in the same price range offer a Full HD+ display, the Infinity N12 has an HD+ display. The display has a nearly bezel-less design and a notch in it. There is a 13MP + 5MP dual-camera at the rear. The 13MP sensor is the main camera that takes images and records videos, while the 5MP camera is a depth-sensor to aid in portrait photos. Unlike its competitors, the Infinity N12 cannot record 4K videos. For selfies, there is a 16MP camera.

The Micromax Infinity N12 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, which has octa-core CPU and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Yes, there is only one RAM and storage configuration on offer, unlike other phones that come in multiple RAM and storage options. The smartphone has Android 8.1 Oreo, and there is stock Android UI. Micromax has offered to provide Android 9 Pie update within 45 days of its launch.

The Micromax Infinity N12 features a 4000mAh battery. The battery capacity is similar to that of its competitors like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. Micromax has not provided any information if the battery supports fast charging, which lets us assume that the device does not support fast charging. The smartphone offers all the standard connectivity option that you would expect from a 2018 entry-level smartphone, such as dual-SIM, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm audio jack. For charging and data transfer, the Infinity N12 still uses the old microUSB standard instead of the newer USB Type-C port.
