Nubia Z9 Mini

The Chinese manufacturer ZTE is entering the Indian market under a separate Nubia sub-brand with the Nubia Z9 Mini smartphone aimed at the mid-range market. The device comes with some interesting specs but doesn t necessarily offer something new in the already saturated mid-range segment.

The device comes with a 5-inch CGS (Continuous Grain Silicon) OGS display having an incredible 74.1% screen-to-body ratio. The display has a Full HD (1920 1080 pixels) resolution and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top to improve the longevity of the device. The device comes in black colour only.

A 16-megapixel 6-piece camera sits on the back of the device and comes with a Sony IMX234 Exmor RS sensor. The lens comes with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. On the front of the device sits an 8-megapixel shooter with Sony IMX179 Exmor R BSI sensor. The lens has an 80-degree wide viewing angle to capture the perfect selfies and also make high-definition video calls.

Under the hood sits a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with four of the cores clocked at 1.5GHz and the rest at 1.0GHz. The processor is complemented by an Adreno 405 GPU clocked at 500 MHz. In addition, the smartphone comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device memory can be further expanded up to 128GB via an external microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Nubia UI 2.8 on top.

The smartphone is geared towards lightning fast connectivity boasting 4G LTE (TD-LTE 2300MHz-Band 40 and FDD-LTE 1800MHz-Band 3) connectivity along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (dual band). The dual-SIM phone also comes with a host of other connectivity options such as GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 and microUSB 2.0. The Nubia Z9 Mini draws power from a 3000 mAh battery which should keep the device active for at least a day.
