Oppo has been a consistent player in the budget smartphone segment in India and has even managed to grab attention in the mid-range as well, thanks to its Reno series. But the Chinese smartphone giant is back to playing a league that it understands very well, the sub-20k section. The company has announced the Oppo A8, which comes with a large 6.5-inch IPS LCD display offering a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The phone is powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core chipset and also has 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of internal memory. On the back of the Oppo A8 is a 12MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera setup, while on the front there is an 8MP selfie snapper. The phone runs on ColorOS offering Android Pie and the battery has a capacity of 4230mAh with support for VOOC charging, which is great news. Some of the other popular Oppo phones include the Oppo A9s, Oppo K5 and the Oppo A91.

The Oppo A8 made its debut in China first. The device features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display that has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a pixel density of 270ppi. The display has a screen-to-body ratio of about 83 percent.
2.3GHz SoC, Rear Triple Camera
The Oppo A8 is equipped with an octa-core 2.3GHz chipset. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The phone runs Android 9 Pie on Oppo s very own custom OS, ColorOS. The triple camera setup on the back features a 12MP primary camera as well as an 8MP ultrawide secondary camera. Besides this, it has a 2MP camera for macro photography. For selfies, the Oppo A8 comes with an 8MP front camera, embedded in the water drop notch. The cameras are capable of shooting full HD videos.
