Sony Xperia M5 Dual

The Sony Xperia M5 Dual is a premium range smartphone with a Full HD display, good cameras, excellent core specs and an IP water and dust resistance certification to boot.

The Xperia M5 Dual comes with a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution offering 441 PPI pixel density. This should ensure that the phone shows everything at excellent quality. The screen is protected by scratch-resistant glass but this might not save the display from harsher physical damages. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 7.6-mm thick and weighs 142.6 grams.

The Xperia phone runs Lollipop 5.0, upgradeable to 5.1, on a MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 SoC that holds an octa-core 2.0GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and a 3GB RAM. These core specs should keep the phone running at a good speed. The phone also has a PowerVR G6200 GPU that is quite energy efficient. The M5 Dual has 16GB of internal storage that can be increased to 200GB with an SD card.

The primary camera on the phone is 21.2-megapixels with LED flash, Hybrid autofocus and a f/2.2 aperture that will take crisp and clear images. The primary camera offers 5x image zoom, records videos in 4K, image stabilization features, and geo-tagging. The secondary camera is 13-megapixels with Sony’s Exmor RS sensor that should allow the camera to take brilliant selfies. The front camera has a f/2.0 aperture and records videos is Full HD. A 2,600mAh non-removable Li-ion battery powers the phone. This battery should keep the phone alive for a day at best with normal use.

The dual-SIM (microSIM with the second on standby) phone supports 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS for navigation and comes with a microUSB 2.0. The phone is also IP68 certified dust and water resistant, but this resistance is ensured only to a certain depth of water and limited time. Sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, proximity sensor and a compass.
