Xiaomi Redmi 1S

Chinese consumer seller Xiaomi unveiled the new Xiaomi Redmi 1S. The entry-level device priced at Rs 6,999 comes with attractive features which is unheard of from any other vendor at this price segment.

The mid-range device sports a 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) screen resolution which reflects an effective pixel density of 312 PPI. The smartphone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system and has Corning's Gorilla Glass 2 protection. The Xiaomi Redmi 1S is available in a range of colours and is on sale exclusively on Flipkart. The smartphone is 9.9 mm thick and weighs 158 grams.

The dual-SIM smartphone has a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 305 GPU. The Android based device also has MIUI v5 on top. The smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash which supports Full HD videos recording. Image clarity on the device even on dim-lighting situations is worth praising all thanks to the BSI sensor. Paired with the primary camera the device also sports a 1.6-megapixel front camera which is expected to please all selfie lovers. In addition, the secondary camera supports Hd video recording. The device also comes with an in-built FM Radio.

In terms of memory, the device has 1GB with an internal storage capacity of 8 GB which can be expanded up to a massive 64 GB using the microSD card slot present on board. Citing the connectivity options on the device, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S supports 3G connectivity along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0 on the go. The smartphone comes pre-loaded with Google Search, Gmail, Picasa, document viewer, image reader & editor, etc. The device is powered by a Li-Po 2000 mAh battery which is enough to keep your device powered throughout the day.
