The Xiaomi Redmi 8A Dual features an LCD display with a water drop notch and is reinforced with Gorilla Glass 5 to protect against scratches and accidental drops (to an extent). The 6.22-inch screen offers a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels at 269 pixels per inch. The phone is fairly basic, aesthetically speaking.

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A Dual features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset. The onboard Adreno 505 GPU manages all the graphics work. You get 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard space with the option of adding up to 512GB of expandable memory via the memory card slot. The dual camera system on the back is decent, with a 13MP primary camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor. On the front of the phone, you get an 8MP selfie camera. Both back and front cameras can shoot full HD videos. The device runs MIUI as a custom skin over Android Pie 9.0.

Xiaomi packed the Xiaomi Redmi 8A Dual with a 5000mAh battery making it an all-day battery beast, with the phone lasting even two days if you use the phone moderately. The battery, which is charged via a Type C port, also supports fast-charging up to 18W. Besides offering dual 4G standby, Connectivity features on the 8A Dual include dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, and AGPS. You get a 3.5mm headphone jack for your wired earphones.
