The Redmi K20 comes with a large 6.3-inch AMOLED screen that takes up most of the front of the device. This was achieved with the use of a pop-up selfie camera that eliminates the need for a display notch. The K20’s display offers a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and supports HDR content. There is even an in-screen fingerprint scanner on this handset. This screen also comes equipped with a DC Dimming feature that helps reduce flickering. The entire phone boasts of a Gorilla glass construction that sandwiches a metal frame.

The Redmi K20 is essentially the same smartphone as the Redmi K20 Pro. The only difference is with the use of the Snapdragon 730 chipset on the former as opposed to the Snapdragon 855 found on its more expensive sibling. This chipset offers a quad-core processor that clocks as high as 2.2GHz. In terms of memory, you get 6GB of RAM paired with 128GN of non-expandable storage. For software, the K20 is said to feature Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10. Xiaomi has reportedly used POCO launcher tuning for this software so that you do not get ads within system apps which is something of a problem on other Xiaomi smartphones.

The Redmi K20 has been equipped with a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary rear camera with an f/1.75 aperture that uses 4-in-1 pixel binning for enhanced low-light photography. This has been paired with a 13MP super wide-angle lens with an f/2.4 aperture, while the third camera is an 8MP f/2.4 aperture lens that shoots 2x optical zoom shots. This camera setup is capable of recording 4K videos at up to 30fps. For selfies, a 20MP resolution sensor has been placed inside a pop-up mechanism up top. Both the front and rear shooters have been equipped with features such as HDR, AI beauty, Face recognition, AI studio lighting, AI Scene Separation, AI Portrait Mode, and more.

To ensure the phone last as long as possible, Xiaomi has loaded the Redmi K20 with a 4000mAh battery. This cell supports 18W fast charging over a USB Type-C port. Connectivity options on this smartphone include dual-SIM with 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, aptX-HD, NFC, Radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack with 24-bit/192kHz audio support.
