YU Yureka S

Micromax's online-only subsidiary Yu has extended its smartphone portfolio with the launch of the Yureka S. The device is available in black colour and ships with a low price tag. The smartphone is expected to face stiff competition from the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Lenovo ZUK Z1 and LeEco Le 2.

The smartphone looks compact and resembles the Yu Yutopia and Yuphoria in terms of appearance. The Yureka S is armed with a 13-megapixel PureCel Camera with f/2.2 aperture that can capture good images and record Full HD videos. One can also enjoy great video calling and awesome selfies courtesy a 5-megapixel selfie snapper with f/2.2 aperture and 84 degrees wide-angle lens. 

The Yu Yureka S is designed to deliver decent and smooth smartphone experience as it is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC that is coupled with 3GB of RAM. As the device has 3GB of RAM, users can enjoy lag-free multitasking on the Yureka S. Also, there is ample space for your apps, files and data as the smartphone ships with 16GB of onboard storage that can further be expanded via a microSD card.

On the software front, the Yureka S runs on an out-dated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system wrapped under the Around YU UI. The Around YU UI offers contextual information for categories like food, shopping, and travel respectively. Protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 is a 5.2-inch Full HD screen that comes with great viewing angles which offer decent visibility even under bright sunlight. 

Backed by a Li-Ion 3,000 mAh cell which the company claims will surely last up to nine hours of talk time also has QuickCharge 1.0 support. For connectivity, there are options like 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and a microUSB 2.0 port.
