Alcatel Idol 4

The Alcatel Idol 4 is a mid-range smartphone with standard core specs priced at under Rs. 20,000.

The Idol 4 features a 5.20-inch LTPS display that shows Full HD resolution media. The phone measures 152.7 x 75.1 x 7.4 mm while weighing 141 grams. Variants of the Alcatel Idol 3 featured 5.50-inch and 4.70-inch IPS LCD displays with Full HD and HD resolutions. The Idol 4 is available in gold, gray, silver and gold exteriors.

The Idol 4 runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset that features a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM that allows the phone to function without lagging. These specs are upgrades over the Idol 3 s processing speeds and RAMs. Both Idol 3 phones feature 5.1 Lollipop that can be upgraded to Marshmallow. The storage space on the Idol 4 is 16GB that can be increased to 256GB with SD cards although users will have to give up SIM 2 as the phone does not feature a dedicated SD card slot. An Adreno 406 GPU handles graphics on the Idol 4.

The Idol 4 features a 13-megapixel rear camera that is aided by EIS, PDAF and dual LED flash. The rear camera takes quality images. The rear camera records in Full HD and HD resolutions. The front camera is 8-megapixels, is equipped with LED flash and an 84-degree viewing angle, and can take quality images. A 2,160mAh non-removable battery powers the Idol 4 lasting about 12 hours, while a larger 2,910mAh battery powered the Idol 3 5.5, and 2,000mAh non-removable battery powered the Idol 3 4.7.

The Idol 4 is equipped with 4G LTE support via dual nano-SIM cards, as are the Idol 3 variants. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS aided by A-GPS, and features a microUSB 2.0 for charging. ?
