ASUS Zenfone 3 Laser

The ZenFone 3 Laser is one of Asus’ priced at under Rs. 20,000 with strong specs, a large amount of storage, and a strong battery. The Laser 3 is available in 2GB/16GB and 4GB/32GB variants.

The Laser 3 features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD Full HD resolution display that features 2.5D curved screen. The display is protected by 2.5D contoured Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone boasts of  a 178 degree viewing angle. The display supports ten-finger capacitive touch, instead of the usual five-finger touch, in addition to glove touch. The display also sports an oleophobic coating that repels smudges and fingerprints. The phone is available in sand gold and glacier silver shades. The phone measures 149 x 76 x 7.9 mm while weighing a light 150 grams.

The OS on the phone is Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ZenUI 3.0 on top that runs on a Snapdragon 430 chipset that bears a 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM that efficiently handles applications and tasks. Storage space on the device is limited to 32GB that can be expanded to 128GB via an SD card that fits into SIM slot 2. An Adreno 505 GPU handles graphics for games and HQ videos/entertainment. Purchasing the phone also gives the user 100GB of free Google Drive space that is valid for two years.

The Laser 3 gets its name from its rear 13-megapixel PixelMaster 3.0 camera with a 0.03s fast focus. The camera is loaded with a number of features such as 32-second long exposure and a color correction sensor to better show natural colors. Dual LED real tone flash aids in capturing clear images under low-light conditions. The camera features numerous modes such as manual, low light image capture, night mode, GIF animation, slow motion capture, and time-lapse to name a few. The rear camera records in HD as well as Full HD resolutions. The front camera is 8-megapixels with an 84-degree field of view that also records in HD resolution. The mic on the phone is Asus’ NoiseZero Talk Technology that minimises noise during phone calls. The battery that powers the device is 3,000mAh Li-ion that will last a day.

The phone is a dual nanoSIM device that supports a 4G LTE SIM in one while the other runs 3G. Other connectivity features on the phone include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2. The Laser 3 uses GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS and BDSS for navigation. The phone is equipped with a fingerprint sensor below the rear camera.
