LG K40S

The LG K40S is powered by an octa-core processor which is the same as that the LG K50S uses. Unlike the K50S that comes in a single version, the K40S is offered in two variants, a base 2GB RAM version and a pricier 3GB RAM version. Both these variants get 32GB of internal storage. The handset is also dual SIM ready and also gets a microSD card slot for additional memory. The LG K40S features a fairly large 6.1-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution. LG calls this panel a Fullvision display with minimal bezels. Like its more expensive sibling, the K40S also gets a waterdrop notch at the top of the display where the front-facing camera is hoised.

The LG K40S gets a dual-camera setup at the rear that consists of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with support for PDAF and a secondary 5-megapixel camera. The secondary camera uses an ultra-wide-angle lens. The phone misses out on the 2-megapixel depth sensor that the K50S comes with. The front-facing camera on the LG K40S uses a 13-megapixel sensor mated to a fixed focus lens. Being smaller in size than the K50S, the battery capacity of the K40S is slightly lower at 3,500 mAh.

The LG K40S runs Android 9 Pie at launch. The handset supports 4G VoLTE networks and supports dual SIM cards as well. The USP of the LG K40S and the LG K50S is that both of them support the MIL-STD 810G standard for durability. The handset supports DTS:X 3D Surround Sound and comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The handset is offered in the same two color options that the K50S comes in; New Aurora Black and New Moroccan Blue.
