Micromax Canvas Sliver 5

The Canvas Sliver 5 is a flagship device introduced by the Indian smartphone giant, Micromax. The most attracting element of the device is the fact that it is very slim and light. The device is surrounded by an aircraft grade aluminium frame which gives out a premium feel.

Micromax might have committed a blunder by pairing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset in a flagship device. The processor is clocked at 1.2 GHz octa core which is expected to deliver smooth performance with normal usage. There is 2GB of RAM which supports multitasking. There is 16GB of internal storage which can further be expanded via a microSD card according to the needs of the user.

The device comes with an 8-megapixel Sony IMX219 shooter at the back to click images and record videos. There are various camera modes including face and smile detection, panorama, HDR, autofocus, etc. to make your photos look great. For the selfie crazy population, there is a 5-megapixel front camera which can also be used to capture HD videos and make video calls. To improve the sound quality, Micromax has grafted the NXP power amplifier along with the smartphone.

Connectivity options feature 4G LTE bands along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 port and GPS. It is powered by a Li-Po 2000 mAh battery and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box that brings about the latest Android experience to its users. There is a 4.7-inch display at the front with HD resolution that produces crisp images and also has wide viewing angles, with vivid colours thanks to the AMOLED display technology.

The Micromax Canvas Silver 5, being a flagship, is low on performance and also has a considerably low-resolution camera sensor. The price is just too high for the specs that the device features.
