Motorola Edge Plus

The Motorola Edge Plus gets its name from the waterfall style display that curved towards its edges. Both the models in this lineup use the same waterfall style display panels that add a bit of oomph to the design. Even though the display is curved, the Motorola Edge Plus does get enough space on the side bezels for the power button and volume key arrangements. The display itself measures 6.67-inches across and happens to be of the AMOLED type. It boasts of a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels (19.5:9 ratio) which translates to 386 PPI. With the Motorola Edge Plus, Motorola is also taking the plunge into the world of high refresh rate displays thanks to the 90Hz refresh rate panel. This is still lower than the newer flagships that seem to have moved to 120Hz panels.

The Motorola Edge Plus flagship claims stem from its use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor -- currently the most powerful mobile chipset on offer for the Android platform. An upgrade over the SD855 chipset, the SD 865 is faster than its predecessor in almost every aspect. The phone offers up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage on the top variant. The handset is dual SIM capable and also gets a microSD slot for memory expansion. Being a Motorola, the Edge+ runs a near-stock version of Android 10 with some Motorola-specific customizations. For the large part, the software experience will be similar to stock Android. The phone gets a large 5170 mAh battery with support for Motorola s latest Turbocharging technology.

The Motorola Edge Plus gets a formidable triple camera system at the rear. The primary rear-facing camera uses a 108MP sensor and is capable of capturing some detailed shots. The secondary camera on the Motorola Edge Plus uses an 8MP sensor and thanks to a telephoto lens, supports up to 3x optical zoom with support for PDAF as well as OIS. The phone also gets a 16MP camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The rear panel also happens to house a dual-LED dual-tone flash for low light situations. The front-facing camera on the Motoros Edge Plus uses a 25MP sensor in conjunction with an f/2.0 lens. This camera supports HDR mode as well as FHD video recording at 30 fps.

Being a flagship device, the Motorola Edge Plus boasts of a host of connectivity options. The handset supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, as well as Bluetooth 5.0. This is apart from support for GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, and GALILEO. Motorola has thrown in support for NFC as well. For wired connectivity, the phone supports USB Type-C as well as a 3.5mm audio jack.
