The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is the successor to the very popular Xiaomi Mi Max that was released in the year 2016. The Mi Max brought with it a host of unique hardware features, such as a 6.44-inch mammoth display and a beefy 4,850 mAh battery. Now, with the Mi Max 2, the things are even better, as the device comes with improved hardware and software. The device features a fingerprint scanner on the back for quick unlocking and an all-metal body for better aesthetics.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC powers the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, this new chipset is built on a 14nm process, which, in short means that it will consume less power and provide higher performance. The octa-core chipset features four Kryo cores and four Cortex-A53 cores for a balance between performance and power efficiency. The amount of RAM has also been upped to 4GB in the 64GB storage variant. 

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device can fully benefit from the Android’s 7.1.1 Nougat, as it supports multi-window feature that is suitable on the big 6.44-inch display. Xiaomi is using an improved primary camera unit for the Mi Max 2. The improved camera has a 12MP resolution with an LED flash and phase-detection autofocus system; it can record 4K videos too. The secondary camera, however, is a basic 5MP unit.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 uses the USB Type-C port as its wired connectivity option. As for the wireless connectivity, it continues to come with Wi-Fi ac/a/b/g/n, dual-SIM 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with A-GPS, and an infrared emitter to control electronic appliances.
